Verdant Paths

Privacy Policy

Last updated: November 4, 2026

We want you to enjoy our nature stories with confidence. This policy explains how the current version of Verdant Paths handles browsing, browser storage and external links.

Reading and search

You can read without creating an account. Search terms are matched against the bundled article data in your browser. The site frontend does not submit them to a search service.

Preferences and records in your browser

Language, saved stories and likes use local storage in this browser. Our scripts do not upload these records to a server or sync them across devices. They remain until you clear them or the browser removes them; private browsing may delete them when it ends.

Website requests and server logs

Loading a page requires the host to receive connection information such as your IP address, requested path and browser details. Hosting, CDN or security services may retain access logs according to their configuration. Retention and access depend on the operator’s actual settings. The local clear button does not erase server logs.

Analytics, advertising and subscriptions

After you consent and submit, we store your email, selected language, submission time, consent version and a hash of your unsubscribe token in a private server directory for future travel field notes. We currently collect interest only: no emails are sent and ownership is unverified. Ownership verification and an unsubscribe option are required before sending begins. Save the private unsubscribe link shown after signup to delete your subscription. Records are kept for up to 180 days; expired records are removed on the next request. To limit abuse, we temporarily keep an irreversible hash of the source address and request times for up to one hour. Standard server access logs follow the hosting settings. No third-party analytics or advertising trackers are included.

Sharing and third-party websites

Selecting a social share button opens the chosen platform with the current page URL and, where applicable, its title or other share details. That platform may process data under its own policy. Copy Link only writes the URL to your system clipboard; you decide whether to send it.

Managing your local data

Use the button below to remove this site’s saved stories and likes in this browser while keeping your language preference. You can also clear all site storage in your browser settings. Removed records cannot be restored through the site. Memory features may be unavailable if your browser blocks local storage.

This removes saved stories and likes in this browser. Your language preference is kept.
